If you want a top-notch smile, then you need to have top-notch teeth. This is because your teeth add beauty, function, and health to your smile. Your teeth also help you chew, eat, smile, and even talk. If you fail to take good care of your chompers, these things will be a lot more difficult. So, to help you keep your teeth in the best condition possible, our dentist, Dr. Jeffrey Brink, recommends doing a few things.

First, properly brush your teeth. To do this, you need to brush twice a day for two minutes each time. Make sure not to rush when you brush and make sure you thoroughly clean each chomper. As you brush, use an ADA-approved soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. These tools can deeply clean and help your teeth.

Second, properly floss your teeth. You just need to use a flossing product that is easy to use at least once a day to clean the cracks between your teeth. As you do so, try to remove as much plaque and bacteria from the space as you can. This can help you prevent dental issues like tooth decay and gum disease. Also, please remember to be careful as you floss by the gums.

Third, have a healthy and balanced diet. Sadly, there are a lot of foods and drinks out there that threaten to harm the teeth, especially sugary and acidic foods and drinks. So, it’s best to have a healthy and balanced diet by eating tooth-healthy foods, like vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, and by avoiding snacking between meals.
